Kino London’s monthly open-mic film night is the only film night of it’s kind in London. Filmmakers register in advance to screen their short at the next event, sight unseen. Kino is a truly open platform for both experienced filmmakers and those finding their feet as storytellers and producers. With such a broad spectrum of new work being screened, each event is a genuine reflection of the current output of London’s filmmakers, established and
emerging.
In addition to the open screen, Kino London acts as a facilitator for new filmmaking in the capital, holding regular production events in partnership with major film festivals and exhibitors.
Past partnerships include:
- Southbank Centre // Commissioning of 10 new silent shorts from Kino London filmmakers
- East End Film Festival 2009 // 3 week Production event, launched at festival // 20 participants // 8 shorts produced
- London Short Film Festival 2010 // 4 day film challenge // 40 participants and 12 shorts produced // All films screened atĀ festival with ‘live’ performance element
